Established in 1987 as a charitable non-profit 501(c)(3) and the partner of the world-renowned Van Wezel Performing Arts Hall, the Van Wezel Foundation was in the middle of a rebrand and at the beginning phases of its quest to build a new performing arts center – and they needed a strategic, creative push to make it happen. Grapevine was retained in 2019 to assist with their marketing, public relations and community engagement efforts, as well as develop their new website to showcase their refreshed brand as the Sarasota Performing Arts Center.
The client wanted a website that evoked the new feel of the Sarasota Performing Arts Center project, incorporated modern responsive design, provided easy access for staff to update content, included web accessibility tools, facilitated event promotion and registration, and allowed future scalability.
Grapevine built the site utilizing HTML5 responsive design and advanced parallax image effects to make a visual impact while supporting the Foundation’s fundraising, community outreach and future development goals. From the design side, we focused on using their new colors, while bringing forward a more modern layout. The result is a bold look with large graphics and visuals to support the arts aspect of the Van Wezel.
Additionally, Grapevine provided comprehensive strategic planning for engaging the community in shaping the new performing arts center, market research, presentation materials, radio commercials, public relations support and media placement.
